Musculoskeletal & orthopedic physiotherapy
Our name for treating pain and injury in your muscles, joints, and bones. Find what you're dealing with below, and we'll walk you through it.
What can we help with?
What it feels like
A dull, constant ache, sharp pain when you bend or twist, stiffness first thing in the morning, or — with sciatica — pain, tingling, or numbness that travels from your lower back down through your buttock and leg.
What usually causes it
Awkward lifting, long hours sitting or at a desk, sleeping in a poor position, muscle strain, or a disc irritation. Sometimes it comes on suddenly; sometimes it builds up gradually over weeks without one clear trigger.
Your first visit
Your physiotherapist conducts a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment — a structured evaluation of spinal mobility, neurological function, and load tolerance, including reflex testing and strength screening where nerve involvement is suspected (in plain terms: checking whether a nerve is being irritated or pinched). You'll leave with a clear clinical impression and an evidence-based treatment plan.
How treatment helps
Care combines hands-on manual therapy — joint mobilization and soft tissue release — with a progressive, biomechanically-informed exercise program designed to offload irritated structures, restore functional range of motion, and rebuild the neuromuscular control that prevents pain from returning.
What to expect: Many people notice real improvement within 3–4 visits; a full course of care is often 5–10 sessions, depending on how long you've had the pain and how severe it is.
